Local Weatherman Hurt, Woman Killed in Accident

A young eastern Iowa woman is dead and a local television weather man is in the hospital, following a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning (July 11, 2015).

It happened on Highway 100 in Marion; a vehicle driven by 19 year old Zoee Norton of Cedar Rapids apparently went out of control, crossed the center line, and collided with a pickup driven by Justin Roberts, formerly of Fayette.

Roberts is the morning weather anchor at KGAN-TV (CBS-2) in Cedar Rapids.

Norton was taken to a local hospital, but died from her injuries.

Roberts remains in the hospital, recovering from a broken hand and cracked sternum.
