Oelwein Man Arrested For New Year’s Day Assault

An Oelwein man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting another person early New Years Day.

Oelwein Police were called out on a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of 9th Avenue SE around 2:30 AM on Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2019).

Following the investigation, 28-year-old Casey Thurston was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault-impeding airflow. According to Oelwein police, the charge is a Class "D" felony.
