So on occasion we receive correspondence from a listener asking for advice, so we thought we would pass these on to you for some good old fashion community advice. Today we're dealing with a marital spat regarding letting their 10 year old son hunt.

I grew up hunting and was allowed to go hunting and use a gun with proper supervision when I was 10. I also had to complete hunter's safety courses at the age of 12 before be legally allowed to hunt. My personal opinion, having a kid that age, 10 may be a bit young. Maybe just allow him to tag along.

Dear Cory,

My wife and I had a spirited discussion this past weekend about allowing our 10 year-old son to go hunting with me. She is against him learning how to use a gun. She thinks he is too young. I see nothing wrong with a 10 year-old using a gun as long as he is trained properly. I think my wife is coddling our son. What do you think?

Don
