Fire has destroyed a house in rural Buchanan County.

Firefighters from 3 area departments were called out to a vacant house in the 2900 block of Tucker Avenue, southeast of Quasqueton at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday (May 3, 2016).

High winds helped fuel the blaze, which totaled the home.

According to authorities, the cause of the fire appears to be a lightning strike, but it remains under investigation.

No one was hurt.
