Jesup Man to Prison for Sending Child Porn over Cell Phone

A Jesup man will be spending his next 14 years in prison, for sending child pornography over his cell phone.

34 year old William Smith had pleaded guilty in March to a charge of distributing child porn through his cell; the incidents occurred in June of 2013.

The case was investigated by the Marion Police Department.

Smith has now been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison, charged a special assessment of $100, put on eight years of supervised release after his prison term, and will also have to register as a sex offender.
