It’s Heating Up. Don’t Leave Pets In Cars.

The summer is unofficially here. It doesn't officially arrive until Monday, June 20th, but we'll just call it summer for the sake of this article. That means warmer temperatures. It's heating up out there, so let's not leave pets in hot cars...ok?

Signs of heatstroke in dogs include restlessness, excessive thirst, thick saliva, heavy panting, lethargy, lack of appetite, dark tongue, rapid heartbeat, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and lack of coordination.

According to PETA, if you see a dog in a hot car, get the car's color, make, model and license plate number. Try to locate the owner, or call the police. Make sure to keep a close watch on the animal and don't leave until the situation is resolved.
