Iowa’s Uthoff Earns Big Ten Honors
After averaging 16.5 points, 7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, Cedar Rapids Jefferson alumn and Iowa Hawkeye Junior, Jarrod Uthoff earned himself a Big Ten weekly honor.
Uthoff was named "Player of the Week" by the Big Ten. For the week, Utoff shot 50% from the field (11 of 22) and three-point range (7 of 14). He scored a game high 18 points, including 4 three-pointers, pulled down 7 rebounds and handed out 5 assists in the Hawks win over Ohio State. Utoff chipped in 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers plus grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 assists, one block and one steal in the Hawkeye's win over Nebraska.
Uthoff is also credited with helping lead the Hawkeyes to their first 2-0 start in Big Ten play since the 2002-03 season.
This is Uthoff's first carreer Big Ten Player of the Week honor.
The Hawkeyes host Michigan State this Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye.
