When 13th-ranked Iowa State faces in-state rival Iowa Friday night, the Cyclones may be be without their second-leading scorer following the arrest of Bryce Dejean-Jones early this morning.

Ames police say the senior guard was arrested around 3 a.m. today (Thursday, December 11, 2014) on multiple misdemeanor charges after officers were called to his apartment because of noise complaints.

Dejean-Jones is charged with gathering where marijuana is used – a serious misdemeanor. He's also accused of violating nuisance party and noise ordinance regulations – both simple misdemeanors.

Police spokesman Geoff Huff says Dejean-Jones remained at the Story County jail in Nevada Thursday morning on $1,600 bond.

Dejean-Jones is in his first season at Iowa State (6-1), where he's averaging 17.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season. On Monday, he was named Newcomer of the Week by the Big 12 Conference after scoring a team-high 22 points in a 73-56 win over Missouri-Kansas City at Hilton Coliseum. Dejean-Jones made nine of his 12 field-goal attempts during the victory.

Dejean-Jones joined coach Fred Hoiberg's team during the off-season as a graduate transfer student from Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV). He began his career at USC before transferring to UNLV.

Dejean-Jones' status for Friday's game against the Hawkeyes (8-2) isn't yet known. Hoiberg is expected to release a statement later today.
