Where someone lives can have a big impact on their stress-level, according to a new study from Zippia. Researchers looked at average commutes, unemployment, work hours, and other factors in every US city with at least 100,000 people in all 306 of them. According to the results, the most stressed-out city in America is Miami.

Apparently the most stressful states to be in are Florida, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, and California. Because all of the top ten cities are in those five states.

So where should Americans go to be less stressed?

IOWA!

Davenport and Cedar Rapids were specifically mentioned as being the least stressful towns, but the state as a whole is considered low stress. And the reasons?

  • Cost of living is lower
  • Lack of traffic
  • More relaxed work hours

So there you go. Next time you dream of going to 'the big city', just remember, they're dreaming of moving here. Ok, that's probably not true, but you get the idea.
