Iowa High School Volleyball Rankings (Sept. 18, 2014)

Fourteen teams from Northeast Iowa are featured in the latest volleyball rankings, released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Thursday (September 18, 2014).

Dike-New Hartford remains the highest ranked from the area. The three-time defending state champion Wolverines lead the Class-2A poll for a fourth-straight week, following a 10-1 start their season. Four other North Iowa Cedar League (NICL) teams are featured among the top 15 in 2A -- fifthth-ranked Grundy Center, seventh-rated Sumner-Fredericksburg, eighth-ranked Wapsie Valley and No. 14 Denver.

A sixth NICL team is ranked in Class-3A. La Porte City Union is rated eighth after opening the season with 11 victories in 13 matches. Ahead of the Knights is Independence, which remains third.

Three Iowa Star Conference teams are ranked in Class-1A. Janesville is second, Tripoli is fifth, and Don Bosco is 17th.

The Class-4A poll also features three Northeast Iowa teams. The highest-ranked squad is second-rated West Delaware. The others are fifth-ranked Charles City and 13th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock.
