Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Six girls high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked in this week's poll. The survey was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) earlier today (Thursday, January 15, 2015).

Cedar Falls is the highest rated area team. The Tigers (10-2) are ranked eighth in Class-5A, a two spot drop from where they were in last week's poll.

Unbeaten Waverly-Shell Rock (13-0) remains No. 6 in Class-4A. The Go-Hawks are one of six undefeated teams in the 4A ratings.

Crestwood's position in Class-3A also is unchanged from last week. The Cadets (10-1) remain at No. 8.

Another team that retained its position is Dike-New Hartford. The Wolverines (10-2) are ranked seventh in Class-2A.

The Class-1A poll features a pair of area teams that are playing solid basketball midway through the season. Turkey Valley (12-1) is up two spots at No. 11, while Janesville (10-1) climbs into the poll at No. 14 after being unranked a week ago.
