A dozen high school football teams from Northeast Iowa are ranked in the latest Associated Press poll, released on Monday (October 6, 2014).

Cedar Falls has returned to the Class-4A rankings, following a five-week absence. The Tigers (5-1) re-enter the poll at No. 9. They were ranked eighth in the first poll of the season on September 1st.

In Class-3A, West Delaware held on to its No. 3 rating in a poll that had a lot of shake up. The Hawks (6-0) are one of three unbeaten teams in the class and received one first-place vote.

New Hampton and North Fayette Valley also kept their positions among the top 10 in Class-2A. As they were last week, New Hampton is ranked seventh and the TigerHawks are rated eighth. Both teams are 5-1.

Two Northeast Iowa teams considered to be among the best in Class-1A. Second-ranked South Winneshiek (6-0) -- one of six unbeaten squads in the top 10 -- remains second. Dike-New Hartford (5-1) moves up one spot to No. 9 this week. after re-entering the poll at No. 10 last week.

In Class-A, AGWSR of Ackley (6-0) held its position at No. 3, while Gladbrook-Reinbeck (5-1) moved up one spot to fifth. The rankings set up a top-five showdown Friday night, when the co-leaders of District Four meet in Ackley. After suffering its first loss of the season, Nashua-Plainfield (5-1) fell from fifth to eighth in the poll.

Don Bosco's win streak has now reached 20-straight games and remains the longest in Iowa. The Dons (6-0) are ranked second in the eight-player poll for the third-consecutive week. Janesville (6-0) fell one spot to No. 5, despite winning on Friday. Central Community of Elkader (6-0) made the biggest climb, from ninth to sixth.
