Four boys high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked in this week’s Associated Press poll, released on Monday (February 16, 2015).

A shake-up in the Class-2A rankings has put New Hampton in the top spot for the first time all season. The Chickasaws (20-1) benefited from last week's rare match-up of No. 1-rated teams.

Aplington-Parkersburg fell to Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 62-54. The loss dropped the Falcons two spots -- from No. 1 to No. 3. Aplington-Parkersburg ended its regular-season with a 74-30 win over Don Bosco Thursday night.

For Gladbrook-Reinbeck, the home victory over Aplington-Parkersburg guaranteed the Rebels (21-0) would enter post-season play with the No. 1 ranking in Class-1A. Gladbrook-Reinbeck leads the poll for for a fourth-straight week.

The only other area team featured in this week's rankings is Waverly-Shell Rock. The Go-Hawks (18-2) are rated third in Class-3A for the second-straight week. They garned one first-place vote.

Two other area teams received consideration for this week's rankings. Janesville and West Central of Maynard each received votes for the Class-1A survey, but both fell short of cracking the top-10.

With district tournament games being played this week, the rankings are the last of the season for Class-1A and -2A teams. The Associated Press plans to release its final Class-3A and -4A survey next week.
