Authorities have identified the man whose body was found in a ditch near Iowa Falls on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 13, 2015).

According to Hardin County sheriff's officials, the victim has been identified as Timothy Nussbaum, 23, of Hutchinson, Minn. Investigators said it appears the man was struck by a northbound motor vehicle traveling on U.S. Highway 65 just north of Iowa Falls.

A vehicle of interest has been located and seized for examination, sheriff's officials confirmed. They haven't said whether there have been any charges filed or arrests made in the case.

The Hardin County sheriff's department is the lead agency in the investigation, but the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is assisting, as is the Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Falls police.
