Investigating Dead Deer Which was Possibly Tortured

Northeast Iowa authorities are investigating what appears to be the torture of a wild deer.
The Bremer County Sheriff received a report over the weekend of a possible animal torture incident, in the 100 block of Main Street in Plainfield.

The responding deputy found the dead deer, which appeared to have been dragged, with a rope still around it's neck.

The deer's antlers had previously been removed.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is assisting the Bremer County Sheriff in the investigation.
