Inmate Injures Deputy In Black Hawk County Jail

According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, an inmate in the county jail injured a Deputy on Saturday morning.

Not much information was given, only that the incident happened around 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 21st. According to the police report, the Deputy Sheriff was transported to an area hospital by ambulance and is continuing to receive treatment for the injuries sustained as a result of the assault.

Inmate John Delroy Young of Waterloo was charged criminally with Willful Injury and Assault on a Peace Officer. Both charges are felonies.
