An inmate at an eastern Iowa jail, who failed to return after furlough, has been arrested by law enforcement.

43 year old Benjamin McCauley of Cedar Rapids had been released from the Linn County Correctional Center on August 4th, on a court ordered furlough. He had been serving 105 days for 2 counts of Revocation Probation.

McCauley was scheduled to return to the jail by noon Tuesday (Aug. 16), but did not show up.

McCauley was located by authorities at about 10:30pm Tuesday, and attempted to flee, but was captured by Cedar Rapids Police Officers.

McCauley is now jailed on additional charges of interference with official acts, and absence from custody.
