Fayette County Authorities have now arrested an Independence man, after a month-long investigation into a deadly traffic accident near Oelwein.

18 year old Anthony Fogle was taken into custody Wednesday, on a Fayette County warrant on charges of vehicular homicide, operating while intoxicated first offense, reckless driving, and a seatbelt violation.

The charges stem from a November 1st accident, about one-and a half miles west of Oelwein on 35th Street. Fogle was the driver of a westbound pickup that went into a ditch. According to the sheriff, Fogle continued driving until he struck a residential driveway. The pickup became airborne and rolled several times.

A passenger, 20 year old Branden Samuel of Wadena, was ejected, and died from his injuries. Another passenger, 21 year old Louis Lumpkin of Oelwein, was injured. The truck was totaled.

Fogle was being held in the Fayette County jail on $25,000 cash bond.
