In Waterloo, kids are permitted to go trick-or-treating on October 31st from 6-8 pm. But what about teens or adults? Well, they're expected to either go with a kid or sibling, but if they go alone it's not illegal. Sure, it's obnoxious, but making it a crime still seems like an extreme way to stop them.

There are a handful of towns where kids over 12 who go trick-or-treating can actually get arrested!.

One of those towns is Chesapeake, Virginia. They actually have a statute that says anyone over 12 who goes trick-or-treating can be charged with a misdemeanor that carries up to a $100 fine, OH and up to six months in the clinker! Yep, you could go to in jail for trick-or-treating. Hope it's worth the Reese's pumpkin. (Actually it might be)

So if your teenager or you yourself are planning to go trick-or-treating, you should probably go over the local city codes first to make sure you or your teen doesn't wind up with a record. Cuz wearing prison orange on November 1st is not a good look.
