Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on highway 218 on Wednesday evening.

Investigation revealed that a 1999 Ford F150, driven by Gary Lee Kinkade Sr, 64, of Waterloo was traveling southbound.  The vehicle dropped off onto the shoulder of the roadway.  As the vehicle came back onto roadway, the driver overcorrected losing control.  The vehicle crossed a lane of traffic before entering the median.  As the vehicle entered the median it rolled at least two times before coming to rest on the driver's side.  A passenger, Susan Kinkade, 66, was ejected from the vehicle.

Both the driver and the passenger were transported to Allen Hospital.  The driver had possible injuries and the passenger sustained serious injuries.  Their conditions have not been released.

Black Hawk County Deputies were assisted at the scene by Covenant and Waverly Ambulances, Cedar Falls and Janesville Fire, Janesville First Responders, Cedar Falls Police, Iowa State Patrol and Rasmussen Towing.
