A convicted sex offender from Oelwein has been captured in Florida, following an investigation that lasted several months.
On March 28th, 35 year old Randy Eschen was charged with 2 counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree.

In June, Eschen was granted pre-trial release, but he was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device.

A month later, authorities were tipped off that Eschen's GPS monitoring device was deactivated; it was found at a residence where he was staying. Authorities then issued an arrest warrant for Eschen, for violating his pretrial release.

An investigation determined Eschen fled the area to avoid felony prosecution. Oelwein Police requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshall's service to find him.

He was eventually found on September 22nd in Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida.

The investigation continues, and more charges are pending.
