The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for all of Eastern Iowa.

As we bust into the weekend, Winter is going to rear it's ugly head.  The Freezing Rain Advisory takes effect at 8:00 P.M. tonight (Friday, 11/21) and ends tomorrow morning (Satudray, 11/22) at 3:00 A.M.

Justin Roberts and our weather partners at KGAN CBS2 expect fog and freezing drizzle to hit Eastern Iowa sometime around Midnight tonight, which will cause all sorts of driving and travel hazards.

By definition, Freezing Rain is when rain hits surfaces that below freezing causing a glaze of Ice to form.  Eastern Iowa has experienced this in the past with ice causing trees and power lines to snap.
