On November 11, 2014, former Waterloo Black Hawks forward Tayler Cammarata was named as the Big Ten’s First Star of the Week for his play last week. Cammarata currently is a member of the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The Minnesota sophomore tallied five points, the most in the nation last weekend, to help guide the Golden Gophers to a series sweep of No. 15/14 Notre Dame.

On Friday night, Cammarata recorded a pair of assists in the team’s 5-0 victory. That included a helper on the game-winning goal.

On Saturday night, he notched a career-high three assists in the 4-2 win. He factored into the team’s first three goals that night.

This was his first career weekly award.

The last Minnesota honoree was another former Waterloo Black Hawks, Justin Kloos. He earned the Big Ten’s Second Star just one week again.
