A former reserve officer with the Eldora police department is charged with multiple felonies in Grundy County.

Dennis Beadle, 36, of Iowa Falls, was arrested in his hometown on Friday (April 1, 2016). He was transported and booked into the Grundy County jail and was later released after posting bond.

Beadle is accused of sexually abusing and stalking a former girlfriend in Grundy Center over a four-month period, according to complaint and affidavit documents filed earlier this week in Grundy County District Court. The documents reveal the struggle a 25-year-old woman -- identified in court records as "S.M." -- had ending her relationship with Beadle.

The documents detail several alleged incidents involving Beadle and the woman between Oct. 2015 and Feb. 2016. Many of the incidents occurred when Beadle was in uniform and on duty, according to the documents.

Beadle is charged with third-degree sexual abuse, stalking while carrying a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse causing bodily injury.

The probe into "S.M.'s" complaints was initiated by Grundy County sheriff's officials and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation on Dec. 21, 2015. Hardin County sheriff's officials and Iowa Falls police were also involved in the investigation.
