Fire Guts Rural Vinton Farm Building

A farm building near Vinton has been destroyed by fire.

Just before 9:30 this (Tuesday) morning, emergency crews were alerted of a pole building on fire, just north of Vinton, on 52nd Street Drive.

The pole building was being used for storage, and contained hay bales, tractors and equipment. The building and all of the contents were destroyed.

Hay bales are hampering firefighters efforts in extinquishing the blaze, as they keep fueling the flames. An excavator has been called in to bury the bales.

No injuries have been reported. The name of the owner was not released. A cause remains under investigation.
