Fayette County authorities have arrested two people in separate incidents of stealing farm equipment.

The first incident happened last Thursday; the Fayette county sheriff got a report of a tractor that had been stolen from a farm near Wadena.

After an investigation, 24 year old Tyler Horton of Wadena was arrested and charged with theft in the second degree, a felony. He was taken to the Fayette County jail in West Union and held until his initial court appearance.

The other theft was reported just before noon on Friday. The sheriff was notified of a theft in progress, of a farm wagon from a rural property, 2 miles west of Oelwein on 40th street.
After looking into the matter, a Fayette County deputy arrested 46 year old Dale Tournier of Oelwein, on charges of theft in the fourth degree, driving an unregistered vehicle, and not having insurance.

The deputy was assisted at the scene by an Iowa D.O.T. commercial vehicle enforcement officer.
