A Fairbank man had to be hospitalized, and also faces charges, following a two-vehicle accident near Oran. It happened at about 5pm Sunday, at the intersection of Highway 3 and Fayette county road V-68.

A northbound vehicle driven by 72 year old Darrel Cox of Fairbank, pulled out into the path of a vehicle driven by 39 year old Heath Evens of Independence, which was headed west on Highway 3.

Both vehicles were totaled. Cox was taken to the Waverly hospital by Oelwein ambulance, to be treated for minor injuries.

Cox is being charged with failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

The Oran Fire and Oran First responders assisted the Fayette County Sheriff's office.
