There are some sweet changes this year at the 30th Anniversary of the Maple Syrup Festival, March 7th and 8th, at Hartman Reserve Nature Center!

Parking will only be at Cedar Heights Elementary School this year, and Friendship Village buses will shuttle attendees to the Nature Center. There will be no waiting outside in line. Attendees should walk to the Buckles Programming Center when they arrive at Hartman.
In the Buckles Center, attendees can enjoy seating, crafts, and educational displays before being escorted to the Interpretive Center where the pancake meal will be served. There will be plenty of volunteers and staff to help the public with these changes in logistics.
Also new this year: raffle tickets are on sale prior to the Festival, as well as advance tickets for the meal. Stop by the Interpretive Center to buy advance raffle and meal tickets, or call Hartman. Attendees can save $1 per meal ticket if purchased before March 6th, but there is no discount on advance raffle tickets.
Raffle prizes include:
  • A bike package from Bike Tech
  • A kayak package from CrawDaddy Outdoors
  • Isle Casino and Hotel package.
This annual fundraiser supports environmental education and natural resource management in the Cedar Valley. The Festival features an all-you-can-eat pancake meal with maple syrup made from the sap of Hartman's sugar maple trees. Sausage, Starbuck's coffee, and dairy products from Hansen's Farm Fresh Dairy will also be served from 7-1:00 each day.
Other major sponsors for the Festival include Cedar Valley Podiatry Foot & Ankle Center and Greg & Susan Lantz.
Hartman Reserve Nature Center is located at 657 Reserve Drive in Cedar Falls. For more information visit www.HartmanReserve.org or call 319-277-2187.
