Whether you can barely plug two strings of light sets together or if your display would make the great Clark W. Griswold envious...you're encouraged to enter this contest!

Evansdale's 2nd annual Lighting Contest is open for registration now through this Friday, November 29th. It is a FREE contest open to all residents of Evansdale/Elk Run Heights. There will be four categories with prizes and trophies awarded. The categories are Simple, Elegant, Gaudy and the new "Inflatable" category. Don't worry, it doesn't matter if you don't have your display up yet, you can keep adding to it until December 16th! After December 20th, all entries will be independently judged by five judges.

As an Evansdale resident myself, I've already entered this contest...and I'm going to win! (Yes, that's some "Christmas light decorating smack talk" right there) Naturally, you'd think I would try for the "Gaudy" award, (since Clark Griswold is my hero) so I'm going to have to step my game up! Decorating my house is one of my favorite things to do this time of the year. Why else would I stand outside freezing to death? Most importantly, make sure to ask/make/bribe your kids to help you, it's an important life skill to pass down the generations! Stick them to untangle the lights ala the movie "Christmas Vacation". Clark W. Griswold:

Dad, you taught me everything I know about exterior illumination.
