Eastern Iowa Woman Dies in One-car Accident

An Eastern Iowa woman has died in a one-car accident in Johnson County.
It happened at about 5pm Tuesday (Oct. 25) on Wapsi Avenue, near Lone Tree.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 28 year old Brittany Voparil of Cedar Rapids, was headed south, when her car dropped off the shoulder.

Voparil over-corrected; the car then went into the left ditch, vaulted over a farm driveway, then rolled, ejecting the driver.

Voparil was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City, but died from her injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
