Waterloo Teen Injured In Shooting

A Waterloo teenager was sent to the hospital following an early morning shooting in the city on Thursday (July 5, 2018).

Chandrique Day, 17, was admitted to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital just before 1 AM. Day had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

According to sources, his wound was not considered life-threatening.

The location where the shooting took place, as well as the circumstances of the incident, were not released.

The shooting remains under investigation by Waterloo police.
