Dunkerton is into the Class-1A semifinals of the Boys State Basketball Tournament. The Raiders defeated East Mills, 50-38, in Monday (March 10, 2014) afternoon’s quarterfinal game. Their next game is at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.

A hot-shooting second-half keyed Dunkerton’s victory. The Raiders made 12 of their 19 field goal attempts the final 16 minutes, blistering the nets with 63-percent shooting from the floor. Three players tallied double-figures for Dunkerton, with Kory Kuenstling and Trevor Jacobsen each scoring 13 points and Nick Anderson adding 12.

Dunkerton took control of the game midway through the third quarter. A lay-up by Kuenstling with 3:22 remaining gave the Raiders a 27-25 advantage – a lead they would not relinguish. The score was tied 19-19 at halftime.

Third-seeded Dunkerton advances to the Class-1A semifinals with a 26-1 record. The Wolverines end their season at 23-4.
