A head-on colission between a dump truck and an SUV in Winneshiek County, has put two people in the hospital.

It happened just before 11am Wednesday on Highway 24, a mile east of Fort Atkinson.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a Chevy Tahoe driven by 62 year old Suzan Farrell, was eastbound, when it collided with an oncoming Mack dump truck driven by 19 year old Tanner Miller of Waucoma.

Farrell was air-cared to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, while Miller was taken by Calmar Ambulance to the Decorah hospital. There is no word on their conditions.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol; troopers were assisted by the Calmar Fire and Ambulance, Winneshiek County Sheriff's office, and Iowa Department of Transportation.
