Oelwein Police have released information on a recent drug bust, that resulted in three arrests and thousands of dollars in illegal drugs confiscated.

On Friday (April 29), the Oelwein Police Department executed a search warrant at 37 6th Street NW in Oelwein, part of an ongoing drug investigation.

44 year old Tammy Bamford of Oelwein was arrested and cited for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and other drug-related charges.

Buchanan County authorities located another suspect, 40 year old Forrest Spitzer of Oelwein, in Hazleton, and notified police. He was charged with meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and drug tax stamp violations.

A third suspect, 56 year old Richard Thompson of Hazleton, was arrested for possession of meth with intent to deliver, drug paraphernalia, and a state drug tax stamp violation.

As a result of the search, officials seized a quarter pound of meth with a street value of about $14,000.

Oelwein Police were assisted by the Buchanan County and Fayette County Sheriff's Offices, and the Iowa State Patrol.
