Once again, the Fayette County Sheriff is reporting a traffic accident due to someone veering to miss a deer in the road.

This accident happened at about 11:30pm Sunday, on Highway 150, a mile north of Fayette. A car driven by 18 year old Zachary Sedo of Freedom, Wisconsin, was traveling south, when a deer entered the roadway.

Sedo swerved to miss the deer, but then lost control of the car, which entered a ditch and rolled onto it's top.

Sedo was initially taken to the West Union hospital, and later airlifted to another undisclosed medical facility. A condition report was not available.

The accident is under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff; they were assisted at the scene by the Fayette Fire Department and West Union Police Department.

Motorists are reminded: do not veer for deer. Compared with hitting the animal in the road, swerving to avoid it could cause a much more serious accident, by striking another vehicle, or rolling it into a ditch and hitting a stationary object.
