The Cedar Falls Police investigated a recent domestic assault in Cedar Falls which led to the arrests of two people.

Yesterday, (Tuesday, August 16th) just after 11:00 P.M., Cedar Falls Officers were dispatched to the intersection of 7th and Tremont Streets after a reported motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist. The investigation at the scene revealed that the bicyclist had been struck and the driver of the vehicle involved had left the scene. Further investigation indicated that the driver of the vehicle was the wife of the bicyclist and that she intentionally struck her husband on the bike after an argument. The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Yolanda Darnetta Draine, age 38, was charged with Domestic Assault by use of a Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Willful Injury (Class D Felony) and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident (Serious Misdemeanor).

Michael Pierre Draine, age 29, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Probation Violation after he was treated for his injuries. Both subjects reside at 316 Walnut Street in Cedar Falls.
