An eastern Iowa motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident that injured one person, and killed a dog.

It happened just before noon Wednesday, on Secrist Road, near Springville, in Linn County. A sport utility vehicle driven by 24 year old Michael Eash of Mt. Vernon, collided with a car driven by 58 year old David Weber, also of Mt. Vernon.

Weber was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital for treatment; a small dog with him in his car, was killed.

Eash refused medical treatment; he is being charged withy failure to maintain control.

The accident is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff.
