Deer Indirectly Involved in 2 Vehicle Accident

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating an accident that indirectly involved a deer.

It happened just before 10pm Friday, a mile east of Oelwein on Highway 3. An eastbound vehicle driven by 50 year old Jane Christiansen of Edgewood, slowed down for a deer on the road.

Another eastbound car, driven by 17 year old Travis McMillan of Aurora, rear-ended Christiansen's vehicle.

No one was injured, but there was $2,000 damage to Christiansn's Ford Edge; McMillan's Impala was totaled.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by Oelwein Police, Oelwein Fire Department, and Mercy Ambulance.
