Waverly-Shell Rock Takes Second at Battle of Waterloo

Waverly-Shell Rock finished second and New Hampton took third in the 2016 Battle of Waterloo.

Waverly-Shell Rock went 2-1 on the final day defeating Western Dubuque (42-36) and New Hampton (37-33), but the Go-Hawks lost to eventual winner West Des Moines Valley (47-15). Austin Yant (152#) led the offensive attack going 6-0 for the weekend and earning 5 of the team's 28 pins. Trevor Byram (170#) also had a 6-0 record adding 3 falls. Jacob Eggleston (220#) and Jacob Eggleston (285#) each finished 5-1 with 3 pins. Dylan Albrecht (120#) and Bryson Hervol (126#) went 5-0.

New Hampton put down Western Dubuque (52-19) but lost to West Des Moines Valley (47-27) and Waverly-Shell Rock. In all, the Chickasaws earned 30 pins. Keaton Geerts (138#) was solid all weekend finishing 6-0 with 5 pins. Noah Hopp (220#/285#) added 4 falls and finished 4-2. Noah Glaser (170#/182#) and Dylan Robinson (106#/113#) went 6-0. Ryan Gorman (160#/170#) went 5-1.

Round 3: New Hampton defeated Epworth, Western Dubuque 52-19. West Des Moines Valley defeated Waverly-Shell Rock 47-15.
