Wartburg Men’s Basketball Team Makes Championship Game

The Wartburg Knights men's basketball team advanced to the Iowa Conference championship games. The Knights will host Central College Saturday to play in the IIAC championship game.

The Knights will make their second consecutive appearance in the Iowa Conference Championship Game and its ninth overall in program history.

On Thursday, Wartburg advanced to the title match-up by defeating the No. 6 seed Buena Vista,Beavers (11-15) by a final of 92-77. Nick Webber (Peosta) had a career-high 28 points to lead the team in scoring. Jordan Cannon (Bollingbrook, Ill.) added 23 points.

The Iowa Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game is set for Saturday night (February 27). The No. 2 Wartburg Knights (16-10) welcome the No. 5 Central Dutch (18-9). Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM, and the winner will receive the cIowa Cnference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
