Former Wartburg Knights quarterback Logan Schrader will continue to play football in Germany with the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes of the first division of the German Football League, the league announced today. He will move to Germany in March as the season starts in April.

"We are excited for Logan and this tremendous opportunity," said Rick Willis, Wartburg's head coach. "He is sure to have a great experience while making an impact in football."

"I chose Kiel because they offered me the best opportunity to experience a new culture, while also allowing me to compete and succeed at a high level on the field," said Schrader. "My goals for this season are to help the team in any way I can so that we can win a German and the EFL Bowl."

"We are very excited," said Hurricanes head coach Dan Disch. "Logan is everything you are looking for in a quarterback. He's a leader, he is tough, accurate, he has good speed and can be dual threat."

Schrader was a four-year starter and is the school's all-time leader in passing yards, completions and touchdown passes. He was a two-time Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Schrader was also a two-time nominee and semifinalist for the prestigious Gagliardi Trophy (Division III's version of the Heisman) which recognizes excellence on the field, as well as in academics and community service.
