Former UNI Panthers' guard Wes Washpun is continuing his basketball experience this week at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT) in Virginia.

The PIT features 64 of the best college basketball players -- all seniors -- from across the nation participating in a four-day, 12-game tournament played in front of representatives from every NBA team.

Washpun is playing on the Sales Systems Ltd. squad for the event, alongside former Iowa State Cyclones' center/power forward Jameel McKay. Sales Systems lost its opening game, falling to Mike Duman Auto, 101-86, Wednesday night (April 13, 2016).

The scoring leader for Mike Duman Auto was Abdel Nader, McKay's former Iowa State teammate. Nadar tallied 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting in his team's victory, while McKay scored 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting for Sales Systems.

Washpun also had an impressive game, scoring 11 points, handing out six assists, grabbing five rebounds and blocking two shots in his Portsmouth debut (For Box Score: CLICK HERE).

Washpun wrapped up his UNI career last month having become the 40th member of the school's 1,000-point club (1,035 points). The Cedar Rapids native set the Panthers' single-season assist record (190) in his senior year.

McKay and Nader also wrapped up the careers at Iowa State last month after leading the Cyclones to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
