The $10,000 payday will have to wait. Officials at Marshalltown Speedway have decided to postpone the 11th annual World Nationals that was scheduled for this weekend.

The event was slated for March 30-April 1, 2017. The weekend's weather forecast does not look favorable for any racing to take place this weekend.

On Marshalltown Speedway's Facebook page, track officials posted that, "Due to already wet track conditions, impending steady heavy rains today and colder temperatures not allowing for any track drying, we feel it is best to postpone the World Nationals as conditions will not allow us to prep the track to the standards for which we are known."

The 2017 version of the World Nationals will now take place October 12-14, 2017. This year marks the first time that this event will be sanctioned by IMCA.

The Facebook post concluded by stating, "These are always tough decisions but they are made with the best interest of the racers, crews and fans in mind."
