Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Eight girls high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked in this first poll of the 2016-17 regular season. The survey was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) on Thursday (Dec. 2, 2016).

The ratings feature Cedar Falls and Waterloo West in Class 5A and Waverly-Shell Rock in 4A. Other teams featured are La Porte City Union, Center Point-Urbana and Crestwood of Cresco in Class 3A, along with Turkey Valley and AGWSR in 1A.

Cedar Falls and Center Point-Urbana advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 state tournament, while Turkey Valley ended with a second-place finish.
