The Independence Motor Speedway and Farley Speedway officials each cancelled racing action planned for July 22 & 23.

Races scheduled for Friday, July 22 at the Farley Speedway were cancelled due to the two-plus inches of rain that they we received Thursday night into Friday morning. The humid Friday forecast did not call for favorbale conditions to dry out the track. Racing returns Farley on Monday, August 8 and the MLRA Open Late Model Shootout.

On Friday, the Independence Motor Speedway cancelled their planned Saturday night (July 23) of racing. The Excessive Heat Warning for the area was extended into Saturday night by the National Weather Service, and that was sited as the primary reason to cancel.

Track promoter Dana Benning posted a message on the track's Facebook page reading, "We know that this decision will leave some dedicated fans frustrated, but we will do what is in everyone's best interest. Thank you for your understanding."

Racing returns to the Independence Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 30.
