Race results and recap from 'Legends Night' at Farley Speedway on Friday, June 17, 2016.

Friday nights racing action hosted by Dubuque Hose & Hydraulics featured lots of on track action as well as the honoring of the “Legends” of dirt track racing prior to the racing action. Over 200 gathered in the Palace Ballroom prior to the racing program, which included past drivers and family and friends.

The first race of the night was the running of the Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature that was rained out a week earlier. The 25 lapper belonged to Johnny Emerson as he motored to an impressive win. Emerson stated in victory lane “ my motor likes these wet tracks and I was able to drive the car extra hard.” Jeremiah Hurst ran second in the makeup feature ahead of Tyler Bruehning.

In the regularly scheduled race program the Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models brought the night to a close with a 25 lap main event run caution free in 7 minutes. Nick Marolf shot to the front and rode the high side of the slick track to an impressive win. Jeremiah Hurst scored another second place finish ahead of Tyler Droste.

Matt Gansen scored his second feature win of the season at the Farley Speedway in the very tough GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modified division. Gansen held off Mark Schulte at the checkers with Jerry Luloff completing the top three.

Mitch Maternach scored his first ever Farley Speedway win with a 15 lap main event win in the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Sportmod class. Manternach hit his marks every lap in holding back Tyler Soppe. A last lap charge by Soppe resulted in Soppe spinning handing second place to Nathan Ballard.

Phil Holtz made his way to victory lane for the second time this season in the IMCA Stock Car division. Holtz took the checkers ahead of Tim Helle after the two had battled for the majority of the race.

Quinton Miller padded his point lead in the Hobby Stock Class with another feature win on Friday night. Nick Widemeier ran second to Miller.
Our special guests on Friday night were the Vintage Coupe Drivers. Terry Mattley drove his Ford Coupe to the win ahead of Doug Picrary.

The next racing event at the Farley Speedway will be the annual visit by the UMP Summernationals on Wednesday, June 22nd. The UMP Open Late Models will run a 50 lap feature paying a whopping $10,000.
