Waterloo’s Jeff Aikey Still Atop Deery Series Points

Despite a fourteenth place finish at the Deery Brothers Summer Series race at Marshalltown Speedway, Waterloo's Jeff AIkey continues still sits atop of the point standings.

AIkey's finish at Marshalltown Speedway was his first this season outside of the top ten. So for this season, he finished fifth at Quad City Speedway, second at Hamilton County Speedway, eighth at Farley Speedway, and a second during the season opener at West Liberty Raceway.

John Emerson (Waterloo, IA) sits only ten points back of his Cedar Valley counterpart. Ryan Dolan (Lisbon, IA) is only two points behind Emerson for third. Tyler Bruening (Decorah, IA) is just one point back in fourth. Richie Gustin Jr (Gilman, IA) rounds out the top five, six back of Bruening and 19 back of AIkey.

Winners during the 2016 IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series

The 30^th anniversary Deery Series has seen five different winners in as many races. Denny Eckrich (Tiffin, IA) claimed the season opener win at West Liberty Raceway. Curt Martin (Independence, IA) was the winner at Farley Speedway. Scott Fitzpatrick (Wheatland, IA) netted his first ever Deery Series win when the tour visited Hamilton County Speedway. Joel Callahan (Dubuque, IA) scored the win at the Quad City Speedway. Ray Guss Jr. (Milan, IL) was the most recent winner scoring the win at Marshalltown Speedway

Next Up: The IMCA Late Model series returns tot he West Liberty Raceway on June 14. Joining them will be the Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds.
