The Cedar Falls High School boys bowling team earned the Class 3A 2016 State Championship on Wednesday, February 24 in Des Moines.

The Tigers bested a field of seven during the State Championship roll-off to determine the 2016 state champion. Cedar Falls scored a total pin count of 3,320 to secure the win. Dubuque, Hempstead finished second 145 pins off the pace. Davenport, North rounded out the Top 3.

During the individual portion of the event, Iowa City, West Junior Patrick Wood finished on top with a two-game score of 491. Senior Drew Hicks (Johnston) was a close second with a score of 485. Avery Bauer (Cedar Falls, Sophomore) rolled a 465 to finish third.

The girls state team title went to Johnston bowling an impressive 3,171. Cedar Rapids, Prairie ended the day in second with a 2,910 score. Muscatine closed out the top three finishing the day with 2,859.

Senior Rylee Blood (Cedar Rapids, Prairie) score the top individual honor thanks to her 470 two-game score. Muscatine's Christian Swank (Junior) rolled a 459 to finish second, and freshman Morgan Wolfe (Johnston) was not far behind with a 457 to finish third.
