The Independence Motor Speedway start the 2016 racing season with two $1,000 paydays. On April 16, the Late Models and Modified main events each will award a $1,000 top prize.

The Kastli Auctioneering Late Model Invitational headlines the opening night at Independence. Weekly Late Model (IMCA) rules will apply for this non-sanctioned event. A draw/redraw format will be used. The winner will score the $1,000 payday. No entry fee required.

IMCA Modifieds are also battling for a $1,000 check on opening night. IMCA National, Regional, and State points will be awarded. A draw/redraw format will also be used. No entry fee required.

Also racing that night are IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks. All will earn IMCA National, Regional, and State points. Indee cars are also planned for April 16.

The pit area and grandstands open at 4:00 PM. The opening draw closes at 6:15 PM. Hot laps are set for 6:30 PM with racing to follow.

Adult grandstand tickets are $15. Senior citizens and students tickets are $12, 11 and under are free with paid adult. Pit passes are $25.

The battle for the 2016 Independence Motor Speedway track champions will begin next Saturday during the Burco Sales Weekly Points Night Opener. April 23 is the first night that local track points will be award for all classes (2016 Independence Motor Speedway Schedule).
