The Cedar Valley CourtKings have finally conquered an opponent on the road. They returned from the Oxford Community Center in St. Paul, Minn., with a 129-104 victory over the Minnesota Broncos Saturday night (June 18, 2016).

Andre Norris led the offensive charge for Cedar Valley (5-3), scoring 28 points and pulling down six rebounds to go along with four assists. The effort didn't go unnoticed as the 6'7" guard was named the Midwest Basketball League's West Division player of the week for the second-straight week.

The past two weeks, Norris has made 81-percent of his shots inside the arc and 62.5-percent from behind it. He scored 29 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had six assists in the CourtKings' 130-94 drubbing of the Chicago Fury in Waterloo on June 11.

Norris' play has generated talk among league officials and fans. He's now being considered as a potential candidate for Most Valuable Player in the Midwest Basketball League (MBL).

Five other Cedar Valley players joined Norris in double-figures Saturday night. Wakefield Ellison tallied 26 points, Anthony James followed with 14, and Marvin Singleton had 13. Alex Coleman and Gage Heffernan scored 12 points apiece.

Saturday's victory was the third in a row for the CourtKings and their first away from home in the inaugural season of the franchise. Cedar Valley has now won five of its last six games and is currently a game out of first-place in the West Division standings, tied with the second-place Fury.

UP NEXT: Cedar Valley plays at home on Saturday (June 25), when the CourtKings host the MBL Select Team. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo. Former UNI star and current Nebraska Director of Player Development Ali Farokhmanesh is scheduled to sign autographs for fans before the game.
